Founding- A group of pilgrims came on a boat known as the Mayflower to settle in Plymouth for preserving their culture and freedom and also to practice religion. Soon after they founded, winter came about and the colonists began to starve and die. If not for the help of the nearby Native tribes, they would have all died of disease and starvation. Later on Massachusetts Bay colony was formed and Puritans came. Rhode Island and Pennsylvania split from Massachusetts because of controlling puritans.
Government- Massachusetts was a royal colony that operated under a charter.
Religion- Massachusetts religion was Puritan.
Geography- Jagged hills with trees and forest and with rocky soil that wasn't good for farming
Economy-Ship Building and Rum imports, Fishing, Corn, Livestock, Lumbering, Livestock
Important Residents- Benjamin Franklin, John F. Kennedy, Barbara Walters, John Quincy Adams, Elizabeth Banks and Matt Damon
